Large flat barrier bags with a gray Mylar-type film on both sides, sealed on three sides and open at one end. Fill, then heat-seal — on a chamber vacuum sealer for a vacuum pack, or with an impulse or band sealer for a plain sealed pack.
Each pack has 50 unprinted bags, shipped flat from our warehouse in Santa Clarita, California. The 11.5" × 20" size suits bulk dry goods, long-term food storage, parts and kits, documents and textiles, and anything that needs an opaque, light-blocking barrier pack.

How to fill and seal it

Fill
Fill through the open end — by hand, with a scoop, or on a filling line. Leave a few inches of clean, dry film at the top for the seal.

Vacuum
For a vacuum pack, place the open end across the seal bar of a chamber vacuum sealer and run the cycle. For a plain heat seal, skip to the next step.

Seal
Heat-seal the open end with an impulse sealer, band sealer or the sealer in the vacuum machine. The bag is sealed on the other three sides already.

Store or ship
Label the pack. The gray Mylar film keeps light off the contents and gives a flat, stackable pack.

Yes. Orders made up of packs ship free by UPS Ground anywhere in the contiguous US. If you add film rolls or other products to the same order, shipping for the whole order is calculated at checkout and is free over $299. Faster UPS services are offered at checkout for a charge.

The bag is a smooth (non-embossed) Mylar-type barrier bag. Chamber vacuum sealers take smooth bags like this one. Many countertop clamp-style sealers are designed for embossed or channel bags and may not pull a vacuum on a smooth bag — check your sealer's manual, or order one pack and test before you commit a run. Without a vacuum, the bag still heat-seals on any impulse or band sealer.
The bag is sold as a general-purpose barrier bag. If you need documentation for direct food contact, ask us before you order and we will confirm what is available for this film.
